The Agnes Collective brings together four world-class soloists who have known each other as friends and colleagues for twenty years. They explore a wide-ranging repertoire from renaissance to modern, mingling well-loved music with hidden treasures. Alongside their busy solo careers, performing with the leading conductors, orchestras and opera houses in Britain and Europe, they have individually worked and recorded with many of the world’s finest ensemble groups including The Sixteen, the Tallis Scholars, the Gabrieli Consort, the King’s Consort, Ex Cathedra, Aurora Nova, The English Concert, the Bach Players, the Monteverdi Choir and the Orlando Consort. Now, they bring their four voices and musical experiences together to make the unique sound that is The Agnes Collective. Since their inaugural concert in Sussex in 2014, their performances have been rapturously received by both audiences and critics, in programmes combining sacred music, renaissance, baroque, romantic, contemporary and both English solo and part-song repertoire.
This is their first visit to the Hargrave Music Festival. Next year they make their debut at the Lichfield Festival, where they will sing the world premiere of The Gladsome Bird, a new work by award-winning composer Ninfea Cruttwell-Reade.
